The Ventry® Electric Positive Pressure Fan, for positive pressure attack, ventilation (PPA and PPV), and other commercial and industrial ventilation needs, is 15 Amp, variable speed, and GFCI-safe. Built rugged and strong but not bulky, the fan weighs less than 80 pounds, fits in a small storage space, and moves an impressive 10,500 CFM (17,837 m3/hr).
Electric PPV model 20EM3550 combines efficient three phase technology with the all-terrain three-leg design and aircraft-style Safety Propellers exclusive to Ventry Fans. These three features make model 20EM3550 valuable for aggressive, coordinated positive pressure attack and post-knock-down ventilation and non-emergency ventilation. Being very quiet, low maintenance, and having zero emissions, it is also indispensable for overhaul and situations in which 100% clean air is critical. Three phase technology reduces the positive pressure fan’s size and weight, increases sophistication. This fan will not exceed 15 Amps, even at start-up.
Model 20EM3550 is the modern equivalent to previous Ventry Electric PPV Fan models 20E1.5 and 20E1.5GFCI.
ELECTRIC. In general, having an electric motor gives this fan several benefits over those with gas engines: lower maintenance (essentially none); no emissions; quieter operation; smoother operation so less prone to vibration/walking than fans with combustion engines; and ability to be tipped/oriented in any direction. (While most gas motors will shut down if tipped more than 20 degrees, electric fans may be aimed straight down into a man hole, straight up into an attic, or set at any angle in between.)
THREE-PHASE TECHNOLOGY. Benefits of Three Phase include size, efficiency and sophistication. Size and weight are reduced 25-50% over single phase systems. The motor provides almost constant torque and delivers more power using less amperage than single phase. Finally, the technology allows for better control of motor operations which equates to greater compatibility with standard power supplies; it also allows programming of the motor to limit the power draw to 15 amps at start-up, with no initial spike, thereby avoiding the need for huge breakers and other protections.

VENTRY SAFETY PROPELLER. Smoke-busting Safety Propellers move more air with less horsepower, which is ideal with electrics where engine size is limited due to size and weight. This quiet, two-blade, aircraft style, state-of-the-art propeller provides great efficiency and durability. Most importantly, it is fail-safe. The propeller on 20EM3550 is specifically engineered to utilize all 1.5 HP efficiently.
CLEARANCE. Up to 14 inches between propeller and ground allows no intake of foreign matter so debris won’t be picked up or plug the fan. For added safety and performance, always extend the legs on your Ventry Fan when in use, even if it’s only 6 inches!
FREE-FLOW GUARD. Un-shrouded, double reinforced wire guard allows maximum air supply to the propeller which increases air volume (CFM) and decreases noise. Video: noise drops and CFM increases as a solid shroud is removed from a Ventry Fan in this demonstration.
DUAL SIDE HANDLES AND TOP ARCHES. Side handles provide an easy, fast way for one or two people to lift and carry the fan. The frame also features tall arches on top which protects the controller from both sides and provides additional points for grabbing, carrying, and leveraging.
LONG DISTANCE VENTILATION. Like all Ventry Fans, forward sweeping propeller tips produce narrow, consistent air stream for fan placement far from the target (8-15 ft is ideal). This leaves the entry and exit clear for firefighters and hose.

SMALL SOLID RUBBER WHEELS & SKIDS. Includes solid polyurethane wheels with ABEC-5 bearings for smooth rolling; long handle that moves up/down from center of the fan; stair skids which protect the guard and let you roll fan easily over stairs/curbs. 5-in dia. Ideal for urban environments and mostly smooth ground.
MEDIUM FLAT-FREE WHEELS & SKIDS. Includes 6-inch dia. wheels made of hard polyurethane which can never go flat. Long central handle and stair skids also included. Large and wide for rough and unpacked terrain.

Please specify the plug when ordering. Choose either twist-locking NEMA plug L5-15 (default; recommended) or non-locking NEMA plug 5-15. Other plugs available upon request.
Insufficient power supply. Many factors affect power supply, including other equipment drawing power from the same circuit and the gauge and length of cord into which the fan may be plugged. The electric fan’s digital display will flash a blinking red line to warn you if its power supply is insufficient for the draw. Simply turn down the fan’s variable speed to decrease the power draw. Air volume will decrease accordingly.
Pre-2004 GFCI Circuits. Sensitivity issues may arise with GFCI protected circuit breakers manufactured prior to 2004. If you have trouble running equipment on a GFCI circuit that is supposed to be GFCI-compatible, you may need to upgrade the circuit breaker. For more details or to discuss, please call us.
